After installing the WiFi Manager, you can dial into a wireless network right away, always assuming that you're near a Hotspot. Please bear the following in mind:
If you want to use a private or commercial network, you only need to enter your access data (name and password).
The WiFi Manager also offers you an optional automatic login, meaning that you only have to enter your access data into a particular network once. However, before you use this option, please bear in mind that others who use your computer can also dial into that network - using your account. You should only activate this option if you are a single user.
You can still use the public networks (Hotspots). To really get the full benefits of the WiFi Manager, however, we strongly recommend that you ask for a login account to be activated.
Visit the download page, load the installation package to your computer and open it. Now simply follow the instructions.
The download of the WiFi Manager is free of charge!
A Hotspot is a location where the access signal of a wireless network is received. The heart of a wireless network is its base station - it enables access to the Internet and also enables mobile device users (e.g. laptops) to access that particular network, providing that they are within a perimeter that is usually 50 to 500 meters distant from the base station itself.
You'll find Hotspots in hotels, bars, airports and public places.
Although the radio waves of a Hotspot can penetrate house walls, its range is diminished by such obstacles. In an ideal situation, transmission speed can be over 600 MB per minute, but this varies according to the number of people using it. The number of Hotspots available in Britain is increasing on a daily basis.
The WiFi Manager supports the Wifi cards of the following suppliers:
All the cards that support NDIS 5.1 API should also function. Please ensure that you always have the latest driver installed.
Have you discovered a Hotspot which the WiFi Manager doesn't recognise? If this is the case, just fill out our form with the details of the Hotspot and send it us.
The more exact the Hotspot details, the happier we'll be! Besides the name of the network and the address of the Hotspot, this also includes its operator and - if possible - information about the rates charged. If you don't have all the information. Then just send us what you have. Our team will pursue every piece of information received from you and "fill in the missing spaces".
If you have any question at all about our database (e.g. if you want to report an error, etc.), or about the WiFi Manager, please contact: hotspots@spotigo.com
